This level 4 course is a complete further education in hands-on lighting design and it will transform you into a planner with a sound personal background who can tackle all relevant planning tasks in close collaboration with your customers. This course allows you to work as a key planning/lighting design expert for your company or to launch your own planning business. Participants who will join this course shall already have first working experiences in the lighting industry, in electro planning or in architecture. In this executive program, you will acquire the ability to independently plan and implement complex technical and creative lighting projects in Germany, Austria and Switzerland and provide professional support to your customers. Lighting design - concepts-drafts-designs (hybrid design: presence or online)

Coaching phase (6 x 2h over 6 weeks)
You will be given a larger design planning task which you will work on in stages. You will be supported by the Academy in regular coaching sessions (ZOOM/Teams).

By taking part in the 20-day executive program, you will be trained by the Academy as an expert in lighting technology, lighting planning and lighting design. This certificate course enables you to make use of almost the entire range of courses offered by the Academy in a compact and summarised form and to qualify as a professional lighting and lighting design specialist. You cannot expect more from a systematic and well-founded further training program in the lighting industry.
The course consists of 16 attendance days and 4 project days, which you complete in 9-24 months. Several performance assessments (control questions/planning tasks) confirm that you have mastered the course content and can implement it independently in lighting practice. Your previous achievements may be recognized. Please ask us for details.
- Basics of electrical engineering
- Lamps, luminaires and LED technology
- Basics of lighting control
- Lighting standards for indoor/outdoor lighting (12464-1,2, ASR 3.4 and 13201)
- Basic principles of lighting design for interiors, streets, squares, facades
- Planning lighting systems on the computer with DIALUX based on case studies for hall, office, shop, hotel, street, sidewalk, square, park and facade lighting (renderings, standard compliance, parts lists)
- DIALUX (EVO) Advanced: complex and dynamic lighting planning and renderings
- Human Centric Lighting (HCL): Design of light spaces and calculation of HCL lighting systems
- Daylight planning and daylight control
- Design techniques in lighting design
- Special areas of lighting design
- Economic efficiency calculations on the computer with LightBooster 2.0 (pay back/net present value)
- Management of lighting projects (conception, process organization, controlling)
- Presentation and sale of lighting products and projects
- Prepare, conduct and follow up on customer meetings professionally
- Manage lighting projects professionally
- Develop your own ideas in the lighting sector and translate them into a business model
- Participation in live customer projects and direct customer contact during the project phase (project days)
